My... body... hurts...
Started "Body Pump" the other day...
(Get your minds out of the gutter, people; it's a weights class at the gym!)
...and today my body feels it!
Thing is... later on I've gotta head back to the gym and do my cardio... my upright bike and recumbent bike... burn off my usual 650 calories per cardio workout!
But back to the "Body Pump..."
Me... maybe 20 chicks... and one other guy; and a female instructor!
Allow me to admit... these chicks kicked my ass! Apparently all these classes are "ongoing" and so when you add yourself to the roster it's simply jump on in and try to follow the instructor and your more experience classmates! No instructor tells you how much weight you should start with. Luckily a couple of the gals took pity on me, "the new guy," and showed me how to set up... but from there it was just "follow the crowd" and hope to keep up.
I started with 15 KG - about 33 lbs. No idea whether that was too much or too little, but let me tell you, folks... throwing that loaded bar around for an hour... it was a workout!
Push-ups... fagetaboutit...! (It wasn't pretty, folks...) The stretching and crunches... hmm... I'll leave it to those of you who know me personally to visualize how those went!
Hey... it's a process - right? We'll take it one day at a time, one week at a time, one month at a time.
Anyway... now... on to newsbites!
