immediately responding to the attack on the American diplomatic mission on
orders of the top CIA officer there, three of those involved told Fox News’

night. Baier, Fox News’ Chief Political Anchor, asked them about one of the
most controversial questions arising from the events in Benghazi: Was help
delayed?

Word of the attack on the diplomatic compound reached the
CIA annex just after 9:30 p.m. Within five minutes, the security team at the
annex was geared up for battle, and ready to move to the compound, a mile away.
“Five minutes, we're ready,” said Paronto, a former Army
Ranger. “It was thumbs up, thumbs up, we're ready to go.”
But the team was held back.

According to the security operators, they were delayed
from responding to the attack by the top CIA officer in Benghazi, whom they
refer to only as “Bob.”
“It had probably been 15 minutes I think, and … I just
said, ‘Hey, you know, we gotta - we need to get over there, we're losing the
initiative,’” said Tiegen. “And Bob just looks straight at me and said, ‘Stand
down, you need to wait.’”
“We're starting to get calls from the State Department
guys saying, ‘Hey, we're taking fire, we need you guys here, we need help,’”
said Paronto.
After a delay of nearly 30 minutes, the security team
headed to the besieged consulate without orders.

They asked their CIA superiors to call for armed air
support, which never came.
Now, looking back, the security team said they believed
that if they had not been delayed for nearly half an hour, or if the air
support had come, things might have turned out differently.
“Ambassador Stevens and Sean [Smith], yeah, they would
still be alive, my gut is yes,” Paronto said. Tiegen concurred.
“I strongly believe if we'd left immediately, they'd
still be alive today,” he added.
In a statement to Fox News, a senior intelligence
official insisted that, “There were no orders to anybody to stand down in
providing support.”

Paronto laughed at the suggestion that the video played
any role in the events of that night, saying he did not even know of the video
until he was out of Libya and on his way home. “I didn't know about the video
‘till I got to Germany,” he said. “(I had) no idea about any video, no. No,
sir.”

Under President Obama, the richest 10% were the only income group of Americans to see their median incomes rise, according to a survey released this week by the Federal Reserve.
The Fed data covered the years 2010-2013, during which period Mr. Obama constantly campaigned against income inequality and won re-election by painting his Republican rival as a tool of Wall Street plutocrats.
“Data from the 2013 [Survey of Consumer Finances] confirm that the shares of income and wealth held by affluent families are at modern historically high levels,” the report said in noting that the median income fell for every 10% grouping except the most affluent 10%.
The 2010-2013 SCF found that even though real gross domestic product grew by 2.1%...

The survey also found that family in the middle income bracket (40th to 90th percentiles) saw “very little” change in average real incomes and still have not recovered losses from 2010 and 2007. Families at the bottom of the income distribution continued to see “substantial declines” in average real incomes, a continuing trend from the previous two surveys.

A computer server hosting information for Healthcare.gov, the flagship ObamaCare website that millions of Americans have trusted with their social security numbers, income totals and other sensitive personal information, was the subject of a hacker attack earlier this summer, officials said Thursday.
The federal government wasn't aware it had been hacked on July 8 until just ten days ago.

The 146,368,000 people employed in the United States in August was up 16,000 from the 146,352,000 who were employed in July.

Prosecutors pursuing Mr. Walker have been pushing a theory of campaign-finance law that the state's own campaign finance regulator, the Government Accountability Board, has admitted is unconstitutional under Supreme Court precedent. The theory has also been rejected by the Seventh Circuit and by two judges in the Walker probe.
The latest media misinformation concerns emails that show Mr. Walker raised money for the Wisconsin Club for Growth.
But raising money for Super Pacs and 501(c) groups is routine political behavior, as President Obama and Harry Reid routinely demonstrate.
You'd never guess any of this from reading the anti-Walker press.
Legal activity is made to look nefarious with loose references to terms like "coordination" that have precise definitions for what qualifies as political advocacy under the law.
The Washington Post said Mr. Walker solicited contributions from donors "to give large contributions to an allied tax-exempt group that backed him and other state GOP lawmakers."
Well, no, because the Club for Growth never ran campaign ads for Mr. Walker.
The New York Times said one of Mr. Walker's campaign aides "directed the political spending of the outside groups, most of them nonprofits, and in effect controlled some of them."
No again, because one person's relationship with two groups does not equal control or coordination under the law.

In a recent online chat, a reader asked Daniel Bice, the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel's go-to reporter for prosecutors, why his articles failed to explain the difference between "express advocacy" and "issue advocacy" — a crucial distinction in the law on coordination between political campaigns and outside groups.
"The reason we don't go into great detail on express advocacy is that you can't discuss it without going into great detail. As you just did," Mr. Bice responded.

We're sorry if campaign law has become so complex that the relevant details can't fit in a newspaper article, but allow us to give it a try:
Under campaign-finance law, express advocacy is speech that explicitly supports the election or defeat of a candidate for political office. Ads by independent groups are generally identified as express advocacy when they use words like "vote for" or "cast your ballot for." Those ads count toward a group's percentage of political activities for the purposes of tax exemption and are considered to have a "political purpose" under the law.
Issue advocacy encompasses the rest of the universe of independent groups' speech on policy. Issue ads by an environmental group might say, "Our power plants are polluting, call your Senator and tell her it's important to protect our planet." Another issue ad might say, "The drug war is incarcerating too many people, tell our Governor to veto this bill." While issue ads frequently share the priorities of a politician, they focus on a policy issue, not on the election or defeat of a candidate.

This distinction is critical because while express advocacy is considered speech that can be regulated, issue advocacy is speech that has the highest level of constitutional protection.

Which brings us to "coordination." Under the law, coordination between a political campaign and an independent group is illegal only if it is the functional equivalent of a monetary contribution to the campaign.

Imagine a candidate who calls an independent group and says, "hey, we've made an ad we'd like to run in the Milwaukee suburbs, but we're a little short on money. Can you do it?" That arrangement amounts to a contribution to a candidate, raising the risk of quid pro quo corruption, the standard the Supreme Court has said must be met for regulating political speech.

Short of that, neither collaboration among independent groups nor communication between independent groups and a political campaign is illegal. On the contrary, it is speech protected by the First Amendment.

As John Doe Judge Gregory Peterson wrote in his opinion quashing subpoenas, "The only clearly defined political purpose is one that requires express advocacy" and "the state is not claiming that any of the organizations expressly advocated" so the subpoenas "fail probable cause."
* CHISHOLM SHOULD BE CHARGED WITH MALFEASANCE - WASTING TAXPAYER RESOURCES ON A PARTISAN POLITICAL ATTACK!
Wisconsin prosecutors claim Mr. Walker was "coordinating" fundraising with the Wisconsin Club for Growth and thus the group's activities qualify as in-kind contributions to the Walker campaign. But as Judge Peterson explained, "Before there is coordination, there must be political purposes; without political purposes coordination is not a crime."
* DUH...!!!
The real in-kind campaign contribution here has been from prosecutors to Mr. Walker's Democratic challenger Mary Burke. Their efforts have hobbled fund-raising at many of the most effective conservative independent groups and forced them to spend hundreds of thousands on lawyers to defend their rights in court. Ms. Burke has made the probe part of her campaign and it has helped her get close in the polls.
The prosecution brings to mind the abuses against the late Ted Stevens, who was convicted of corruption in office only weeks before an election because prosecutors withheld exculpatory evidence. In Wisconsin the prosecution has used a secret probe and selective leaks to make legal fund-raising appear illegal.
Eric O'Keefe of the Wisconsin Club for Growth and his lawyer David Rivkin have bravely challenged this as an unconstitutional abuse of Mr. O'Keefe's civil rights. It would vindicate the rule of the law and improve the hygiene of American politics if the Seventh Circuit stops prosecutors cold.

The U.N. no longer claims that there will be dangerous or rapid climate change in the next two decades.

Last September, between the second and final draft of its fifth assessment report, the U.N.'s Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change quietly downgraded the warming it expected in the 30 years following 1995, to about 0.5 degrees Celsius from 0.7 (or, in Fahrenheit, to about 0.9 degrees, from 1.3).

Even that is likely to be too high. The climate-research establishment has finally admitted openly what skeptic scientists have been saying for nearly a decade: Global warming has stopped since shortly before this century began.

First the climate-research establishment denied that a pause existed, noting that if there was a pause, it would invalidate their theories. Now they say there is a pause (or "hiatus"), but that it doesn't after all invalidate their theories. Alas, their explanations have made their predicament worse by implying that man-made climate change is so slow and tentative that it can be easily overwhelmed by natural variation in temperature — a possibility that they had previously all but ruled out.

When the climate scientist and geologist Bob Carter of James Cook University in Australia wrote an article in 2006 saying that there had been no global warming since 1998 according to the most widely used measure of average global air temperatures, there was an outcry. A year later, when David Whitehouse of the Global Warming Policy Foundation in London made the same point, the environmentalist and journalist Mark Lynas said in the New Statesman that Mr. Whitehouse was "wrong, completely wrong," and was "deliberately, or otherwise, misleading the public."
We know now that it was Mr. Lynas who was wrong.

Two years before Mr. Whitehouse's article, climate scientists were already admitting in emails among themselves that there had been no warming since the late 1990s. "The scientific community would come down on me in no uncertain terms if I said the world had cooled from 1998," wrote Phil Jones of the University of East Anglia in Britain in 2005. He went on: "Okay it has but it is only seven years of data and it isn't statistically significant."

Well, the pause has now lasted for 16, 19 or 26 years — depending on whether you choose the surface temperature record or one of two satellite records of the lower atmosphere. That's according to a new statistical calculation by Ross McKitrick, a professor of economics at the University of Guelph in Canada.

It has been roughly two decades since there was a trend in temperature significantly different from zero. The burst of warming that preceded the millennium lasted about 20 years and was preceded by 30 years of slight cooling after 1940.

Putting the icing on the cake of good news, Xianyao Chen and Ka-Kit Tung think the Atlantic Ocean may continue to prevent any warming for the next two decades. So in their quest to explain the pause, scientists have made the future sound even less alarming than before. Let's hope that the United Nations admits as much on day one of its coming jamboree and asks the delegates to pack up, go home and concentrate on more pressing global problems like war, terror, disease, poverty, habitat loss and the 1.3 billion people with no electricity.

The IRS says it has "lost" emails from five more workers who are part of congressional investigations into the treatment of conservative groups that applied for tax exempt status.

Fitch Ratings cut its credit rating on New Jersey one notch to 'A' on Friday because of the state's budget gaps and a broken promise to make a full contribution into its public pension system.
It was the latest warning from a Wall Street credit rating agency about the state's continuing financial problems due to New Jersey's slow economic recovery from the recession, large liabilities, and incorrect assumptions for several years that it would bring in more tax revenue.
The outlook remains negative. The action affects $2.16 billion of general obligation bonds and about $33.5 billion of other outstanding GO-linked debt.
Fitch's action also pressures upcoming bond sales, including a plan by junk-rated Atlantic City to borrow up to $140 million later this year to pay off property tax appeals by struggling casinos.

On its own, Atlantic City would have to pay exorbitant yields to borrow because of its non-investment grade rating. So through the state's Qualified Bond Act, the city will pledge about $8 million of a state grant to repay bondholders over time and get a higher credit rating — and, it expects, lower interest rates - on the sale.

New Jersey Governor Chris Christie, a potential 2016 Republican presidential contender, had worked with Democratic legislative leaders on 2011 pension reforms.

Those changes mandated annual increases in the state's pension contribution to make up for years of skimping and to plug billions in future unfunded liabilities. But in May, citing financial constraints from an unexpected revenue shortfall, Christie slashed two years of pension contributions by about $2.5 billion altogether, prompting lawsuits by organized labor.

The National Council of Border Patrol Agents (NBPC) is responding to the increasing assaults against the agents who protect our border with the production of a documentary movie that tells their story.
While violent assaults frequently leave agents injured and even hospitalized, U.S. Attorneys often fail to prosecute the illegal aliens who commit the assaults.

As recently as last month, charges against an accused illegal alien drug smuggler who assaulted a Border Patrol agent while attempting to escape were dismissed.

The documentary will tell the story of these agents and the outrageous behavior of the government in not prosecuting these cases.

Breitbart Texas news contributor, Ildefonso Ortiz, reported the assault of a Border Patrol agent by an alleged drug smuggler that resulted in the agent being rushed to the hospital where he was admitted for his injuries. “While the court records claim that the assault was a scuffle that resulted in the agent getting a cut lip an injured knee and elbow, in reality the agent was rushed to Starr County Medical Center,” Ortiz wrote. “There, he spent three days in the hospital and three weeks out of the job recovering from his injuries.” In a plea bargain agreement, the assault charges and the drug smuggling charge were dismissed and the alien pleaded guilty to a lesser charge.

Agents are frequently assaulted by illegal aliens who throw large rocks at them as they work along the border.

The assaults often result in head and other bodily injuries.
One of these agents is Border Patrol Agent Christopher Harris who was violently assaulted by an illegal alien who struck him in the head with a large rock. “This agent is based out of the San Diego Sector and has been an agent for 17 years,” said Shawn Moran, National Border Patrol Council Vice-President. “We feel that when this mini-documentary is complete, people will better understand what an agent goes through physically and emotionally after a rock attack. This agent still suffers from the effects of the rocking and endured years of bureaucratic nightmares just so he could keep his job.”
Breitbart Texas Managing Director, Brandon Darby, raised the alarm on this issue in 2013 when he reported the El Paso Sector of the border was declared a “High Risk Enforcement Area” due to the increasing number of violent assaults against agents. Darby wrote, “The declaration came in March of 2013, but the numbers have continued to rise, according to Stu Harris, Vice-President Local 1929 of the National Border Patrol Council.”
The assaults continue and prosecutions are rare sending a signal to illegal aliens that there is little to no risk in assaulting agents while attempting to escape capture. The documentary is expected to be released later this fall.
"The National Border Patrol Council encourages anyone who believes that rocks are not deadly weapons to view this documentary and see the real world impact these assaults have," Moran concluded.

A Tucson, Arizona kidnapping and extortion plot of an American teen on U.S. soil was committed by previously deported illegal aliens from Mexico and a U.S. citizen who was arrested multiple times by Border Patrol agents for alleged alien smuggling and let go without prosecution by the U.S. Attorney’s Office.
A group of six or seven men kidnapped the American teen in Tucson and mistakenly thought he belonged to a wealthy family.
The men tortured the teen and insisted his parents hand over $400,000.

A Situational Awareness Report from the Joint Intelligence and Operations Center was sent to law enforcement agents in the region and it stated, “On September 2nd, Tucson Police received a report that a 16-year-old male had been kidnapped … TPD officers were able to apprehend four of the subjects from the residence that ran out of the house when they approached … the 16-year-old victim also exited the house, he had a blindfold on his face and his hands were tied. The victim had obvious signs of trauma that appeared to be from physical assault … in the residence, officers found an assault rifle, several handguns, and narcotics … Record checks reveal that three of the subjects are citizens of Mexico that have been previously deported from the U.S...

Open-source aspects of the issue were first reported by Tucson News Now, though they did not report that several of the subjects were Mexican nationals who had been previously deported or that one of the U.S. citizens was not prosecuted by U.S. authorities after repeated arrests by U.S. Border Patrol for alien smuggling. According to Tucson News Now, the teenage victim “said he was tied up, beaten and drugged several times over a 24-hour period. It all started on Tuesday afternoon when he was invited over to a friend's house to play video games. It ended on Wednesday when TPD [Tucson Police Department] surrounded the house, and quite possibly, saved this young man's life.”
“They tied me up. They were asking me personal questions about my family, about things like that... Where do they live, what do they do, this and that.” The report continued, “That's because their end game was money. A group of five to seven men, he said, beat him, drugged him and made him drink tequila until he vomited."
