I've gotta admit... it's HARD... very HARD... to act as if things are normal what the present occupant of the Oval Office is about to blatantly violate his Oath and Our Constitution via illegitimate "executive order."
Folks... an "executive order" goes WITH the law... sincerely and reasonably intended to carry out the law - not change the law... certainly not re-write or violate existing law.
The Mainstream Media has never betrayed their mission to this degree...
I have never been THIS disgusted with the America People...

President Obama is poised to ignore stark warnings that executive action on immigration would amount to “violating our laws” and would be “very difficult to defend legally.”
Those warnings came not from Republican lawmakers but from Mr. Obama himself.

For years, the president has repeatedly waved aside the demands of Latino activists and Democratic allies who begged him to take action on his own, and he insisted publicly that a decision to shield millions of immigrants from deportation without an act of Congress would amount to nothing less than the dictates of a king, not a president.
* I KNOW THIS. DID YOU KNOW THIS? IF THE ANSWER IS NO IT'S BECAUSE "YOUR" MEDIA - MEDIA SUCH AT THE NYT - DOESN'T MAKE SURE YOU DO... UNTIL IT'S TOO LATE... OFTEN AFTER THE FACT... THIS TIME PERHAPS A BIT BEFORE - JUST SO AS TO COVER THEIR ASSES!
In a Telemundo interview in September 2013, Mr. Obama said he was proud of having protected the “Dreamers” — people who came to the United States illegally as young children — from deportation. But he said at the time that he could not apply that same action to other groups of people.
“If we start broadening that, then essentially, I’ll be ignoring the law in a way that I think would be very difficult to defend legally,” Mr. Obama told Jose Diaz-Balart in the interview. “So that’s not an option.”
* FOLKS... THERE'S NOT "DEFENDING" WHAT HE'S THREATENING TO DO. BUT BESIDES THAT, NOTE... HE WAS TALKING ABOUT "IGNORING" THE LAW - NOT CHANGING IT - IN THAT STATEMENT. HE'D ACTUALLY BEEN IGNORING OTHER LAWS (FOR INSTANCE THE DEFENSE OF MARRIAGE ACT), SO THIS WAS BLATANTLY SAYING ONE THING WHILE DOING ANOTHER; BUT WHAT'S BEFORE US NOW IS BEYOND REFUSING TO ENFORCE EXISTING LAW; WHAT'S BEFORE US NOW IS OBAMA "RULING" BY DECREE AND DIRECTLY ATTACKING THE CONSTITUTION'S SEPARATION OF POWERS!
But Mr. Obama has effectively reversed his position and now said he believes that such actions can be “legally unassailable,” as a senior White House official put it last week.

The president insisted over the weekend that he had not changed his position.

During a news conference in Australia, the president said that his earlier answers about the limits of his executive authority were prompted by people who asked him whether he could enact, by fiat, a bipartisan immigration bill that had passed the Senate, which would have provided a path to legalization for more of the 11 million unauthorized people in the United States.
“Getting a comprehensive deal of the sort that is in the Senate legislation, for example, does extend beyond my legal authorities,” Mr. Obama said Sunday. “There are certain things I cannot do.”
In fact, most of the questions that were posed to the president over the past several years were about the very thing that he is expected to announce within a matter of days: whether he could do something to reduce deportations and keep families together if Congress would not act.
* AND NOW COMPARE AND CONTRAST:
The president was pressed on that very issue during a Google Hangout in February 2013. An activist asked whether he could do more to keep families from being “broken apart” while Congress remained gridlocked on immigration legislation.
“This is something that I have struggled with throughout my presidency,” Mr. Obama said. “The problem is, is that I’m the president of the United States, I’m not the emperor of the United States. My job is to execute laws that are passed.”

In an immigration speech in San Francisco last November, several protesters repeatedly interrupted the president, yelling “Stop deportations! Stop deportations!” Mr. Obama told the protesters that he respected their “passion,” but insisted that only Congress had the authority to do what they wanted.
And at a Town Hall in March of 2011, months before taking action to keep the dreamers from being deported, Mr. Obama said the nation’s laws would not allow him to do that.

“There are enough laws on the books by Congress that are very clear in terms of how we have to enforce our immigration system that for me to simply, through executive order, ignore those congressional mandates would not conform with my appropriate role as president,” he said.

President Obama met with Ferguson protest leaders on November 5th, the day after the midterm elections. The meeting was not on his daily schedule.

He was concerned that the protesters “stay on course.”
What does that mean?

And why is the president meeting with the violent Mike Brown protesters before a verdict is reached in the court case?
* REASONABLE QUESTION... ESPECIALLY WHEN WE'RE TALKING AN "OFF THE RECORD" MEETING.
The New York Times hid this in the 21st paragraph of their report:
But leaders here say that is the nature of a movement that has taken place, in part, on social media and that does not match an earlier-era protest structure where a single, outspoken leader might have led the way. “This is not your momma’s civil rights movement,” said Ashley Yates, a leader of Millennial Activists United. “This is a movement where you have several difference voices, different people. The person in charge is really — the people. But the message from everyone is the same: Stop killing us.”
At times, there has been a split between national civil rights leaders and the younger leaders on the ground here, who see their efforts as more immediate, less passive than an older generation’s. But some here said relations have improved in recent weeks.
Some of the national leaders met with President Obama on Nov. 5 for a gathering that included a conversation about Ferguson.
According to the Rev. Al Sharpton, who has appeared frequently in St. Louis with the Brown family and delivered a speech at Mr. Brown’s funeral, Mr. Obama “was concerned about Ferguson staying on course in terms of pursuing what it was that he knew we were advocating. He said he hopes that we’re doing all we can to keep peace.”

Random testing of shallow groundwater in the Northern Plains oil patch found no early evidence of contamination from an energy boom that's already seen more than 8,500 wells drilled, federal scientists said Monday.

However, the U.S. Geological Survey cautioned that the tests could have missed contamination from surface spills or leaking well casings. That's because water can take many hundreds of years to migrate beneath the surface, meaning contamination might not have reached USGS sample sites.

Industry observers say as many as 60,000 more oil and gas wells could be drilled in the Northern Plains in coming decades. The recent water tests will provide baseline data that can be used to know if water quality starts to deteriorate in the future, USGS researchers said.
"This is good news, really good news," USGS hydrologist Rod Caldwell said of the initial results. "But we didn't try to just sample domestic water wells close to oil and gas wells. We tried to look at the overall health of the aquifer."
Targeted testing around sites of prior spills could yield different results, Caldwell said.

In the recent study, published in the scientific journal Groundwater, researchers looked at 30 domestic water wells in North Dakota and Montana. Samples from the wells were analyzed for methane, brine and other byproducts of drilling.
Brine, also known as produced water, is a liquid that comes out of the ground with crude extracted from beneath the Earth's surface. It can be 10 times saltier than ocean water and comes in much larger volumes.
About 1.1 million barrels of oil a day are being extracted from the Northern Plains oil patch. The amount of brine produced is about three times that amount.
Earlier this year, an estimated 1 million gallons of brine leaked from a corroded underground pipeline near Mandaree, North Dakota, before it was discovered July 8. The saltwater traveled nearly 2 miles into a ravine, killing grass, bushes and trees along the way.

Still, disposal methods have improved in recent decades, with much of the brine now re-injected into deep geological formations.
For some older oil fields that lacked such safeguards — such as the East Poplar oil field on Montana's Fort Peck Indian Reservation — brine from leaking storage ponds has tainted drinking water supplies.

"In North Dakota," said Karl Rockeman, director of the water quality division within the North Dakota Health Department, "companies in general are doing a better job of preventing and mitigating spills to keep them as small and have as minimum an impact as possible,"
Most are dealt with quickly before the spills threaten groundwater supplies.
