* AGAIN, FOLKS... THE FOREIGN PRESS...

(*JUST SHAKING MY HEAD*)

Weaponry supplied by the U.S. to "moderate" Syrian rebels was feared to have fallen into the hands of jihadist militants affiliated to al-Qaida after clashes between rival groups.

* O*B*A*M*A...

Islamist fighters with Jabhat al-Nusra seized control of large swathes of land in Jabal al-Zawiya, Idlib province, at the weekend, routing the U.S.-backed groups the Syrian Revolutionaries Front (SFR) and Harakat Hazm, activists said.

* GEEZUS...

Washington relied on SFR and Harakat Hazm to counter Isis (Islamic State) militants on the ground in Syria, complementing its air strikes.

* UH-HUH...

It has thus been supplying them with heavy weapons, including TOW anti-tank missiles in recent months.

The London-based Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR) said that, after five days of fighting, the moderate rebels have now surrendered to al-Nusra, which is listed by the U.S. as a terrorist organization.

(*GNASHING MY TEETH*)

U.S. weaponry has fallen into the hands of a jihadist group before. ISIS stole Humvees and other military equipment provided by Washington to the Iraqi army, as it conquered large parts of the country earlier this year.

* THE... er... "U.S. TRAINED" IRAQI ARMY...

(*CONTINUING TO JUST SHAKE MY HEAD*)

http://dailysignal.com/2014/11/03/bioshield-obama-diverted-funds-from-its-fight-against-ebola-other-threats/

Seeking a more robust defense in the event of a bioterrorist attack on the United States, the Bush administration created a $6 billion fund to prepare the nation for such threats, including the deadly Ebola virus.

The Obama administration, however, has not used the range of tools and budget provided by the post-9/11 project, focusing instead on only three targets and diverting at least $1 billion to other priorities, a review by The Daily Signal found.

Nearly five years ago, in fact, the administration’s own bio-defense science board warned that project funds “should not be diverted to support other initiatives, regardless of the merit of other purposes.”

Repeated diversions of funds “raise doubts about the intention of the U.S. government to consistently fund the enterprise,” the science board adds.

* YOU'RE READING THIS - RIGHT?

Of $3.3 billion budgeted under Project Bio-Shield over the past decade for medical countermeasures to Ebola and a dozen other “material threats” identified by the Department of Homeland Security, fully 90% — $3 billion — went to address only three: anthrax, smallpox and botulism.

In September 2006, then-Homeland Security Secretary Michael Chertoff called Ebola a “material threat against the United States population sufficient to affect national security.”

* FAST FORWARD...

But the Obama administration decided to take Ebola off Project Bio-Shield’s hit list even after President Barack Obama singled out the virus in his first official State of the Union address.

http://www.politico.com/story/2014/11/2014-elections-pastors-endorsing-candidates-irs-112434.html

A record number of rogue Christian pastors are endorsing candidates from the pulpit this election cycle, using Sunday sermons to defiantly flout tax rules.

Their message to the IRS: Sue me.

* SINCE WHEN DOES THE IRS HAVE TO SUE...?! THEY ACCUSE... THEY RULE... AND THEN IT'S UP TO THE "DEFENDANT" TO PROVE INNOCENCE.

The number of pastors endorsing candidates in what they call "Pulpit Freedom Sunday" jumped from thirty-three in 2008 to more than 1,600 this year, according to organizers, "Alliance Defending Freedom."

(And this year, they’ve stepped up their drive, telling pastors to back candidates any Sunday up until the election, not just one Sunday as in past years.)

The church leaders are jumping in high-profile races that will help decide the Senate and tight governor races across the country, endorsing candidates from Thom Tillis (R) over Sen. Kay Hagan (D) in North Carolina to Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R) over Alison Lundergan Grimes (D) in Kentucky.

* NAMES, PLEASE...??? (OF PASTORS... OF CHURCHES...)

Rev. Mark Cowart, pastor at Colorado Springs-based Church For All Nations, suggested good Christians should vote Democratic Colorado Gov. John Hickenlooper out of office in an Oct. 19 sermon, where he endorsed his GOP rival, Bob Beauprez. “Beauprez is against more gun control, does not support abortion and he does protect the man-woman marriage — that’s the one I’m voting for. … I’m endorsing biblical principles,” the preacher said in a video of the service, pacing a church stage and chopping his hand through the air for emphasis.

* OBVIOUSLY THE PROPER RESPONSE IS TO TAKE ACTION AGAINST COWART AND HIS CHURCH. CLEARLY THE LAW (TAX LAW) IS BEING VIOLATED. SEEMS TO ME A NO-BRAINER THAT THE IRS IMMEDIATELY REVOKE THEIR "PROTECTED" STATUS.

At issue is the churches’ tax break as tax-exempt 501(c)(3) organizations. They don’t pay taxes, and donations to them can be deducted from contributors’ taxable income.

But with that break comes limits on political endorsements. Charities are barred from engaging in political campaigns.

* AGAIN... REVOKE THEIR 501(C)(3) STATUS IMMEDIATELY.

(*SHRUG*)

IRS Commissioner John Koskinen in an interview last month with Tax Analysts suggested the IRS isn’t planning to crack down on churches anytime soon.

* AND WHO DOES KOSKINEN WORK FOR? OBAMA!

“If by chance a member of the IRS gets this sermon and is listening, sue me,” said evangelical pastor Jim Garlow of the San Diego-based Skyline Church, after backing Democratic Rep. Scott Peters for re-election. His Republican challenger, Carl DeMaio, is gay, and could advance a “radical homosexual agenda,” Garlow warned.

* YEP. THIS IS THE EXAMPLE OF A (SINGLE) DEMOCRAT PREACHER "FOLLOWING THE LEAD" OF ALL THOSE RASCALLY REPUBLICANS POLITICO HAS OUTED. (AND ANTI-GAY DEMOCRAT... SAFE TO DISPARAGE.)

(*WINK*)

* FOLKS... AGAIN... YOU READ MY RESPONSE UP ABOVE! I'M CERTAINLY NOT PROVIDING COVER TO REPUBLICAN PREACHERS. BUT, SERIOUSLY... READ THE ENTIRE ARTICLE... NOTICE REPUBLICAN AFTER REPUBLICAN, CONSERVATIVE AFTER CONSERVATIVE SINGLED OUT BY POLITICO... AND AS FOR DEMOCRATS (SAY... BLACK CHURCHES... THE LIKES OF A REV. SHARPTON OR REV. JACKSON)... POLITICO APPARENTLY ISN'T INTERESTED IN OUTING THEM BY NAME.
